To piggyback on Andrew’s post…

Here’s a list of high school summer reading.  A friend of mine at work admitted to us today that she only read 4 books in high school.  I was aghast, and looked up this reading list for her.  She had never read Lord of the Flies!  I’m disappointed that I’ve only read about half the books on the list.

    Any list that seriously contains both THE ILIAD and THE JOY LUCK CLUB on it doesn’t know what it’s trying to be. And TWO works by Chaim Potok?

    I am doing a summer camp and just recently read the lord of the flies. Although we are only going into 7th grade most of my fellow students found that it was on a fasinating subject. By what age did you mean about some people reading this work being to young?
